Join the Africana Studies Program for a screening of the Haitian film FREDA, which follows the life of a young woman challenged with the difficult choice to either leave her home, or seek change within it.
After the film, Africana Studies Director Dr. Régine Jean-Charles will be in conversation with the film Director, Gessica Généus.
The Africana Studies Program is thrilled and honored to host a screening of FREDA. this The film is planned for September 28, 2022, from 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM in Blackman Auditorium. The event will be co-sponsored by the John D. O'Bryant African American Institute, the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, and CAMD Center for the Arts, as well as several institutes outside of Northeastern.
