Summer Movie Nights: Captain Phillips

Summer Movie Nights on “Old Ironsides” will return on August 20, 2022 with a free showing of Captain Phillips on the spar deck of USS Constitution! Seating is first come, first served. The doors open at 7:00pm and the film will begin at 7:45pm. Before the movie begins, guests will have a chance to hear from Museum Public Historian, Carl Herzog, about the film’s connections to early naval history. It is an evening you won’t want to miss!

General seating will be available, though guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for viewing. Small bags, food, and drinks are permitted on board. Alcohol is not permitted. Guests ages 18 and up will be asked to show a photo I.D. and pass through a security screening to board the Ship. Additionally, please note that USS Constitution is a historic vessel and as such, access to the top deck requires use of a ramp to board. This film is rated PG-13 for some violence and substance use.

The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the U.S.-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.
