Go Out Doors - Neighbors 2022

Presented by The Umbrella Arts Center at The Umbrella Arts Center

In 2022, The Umbrella Arts Center continues its "Go Out Doors - Neighbors" temporary public art project with artist-decorated doors in outdoors locations throughout the Concord area this summer.

Originally inspired by the En Plein Air door installation on NYC’s High Line, Go Out Doors – Neighbors expands upon a summer 2020 installation celebrating the opening of The West Concord section of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail, which then grew over the next two years to towns and partners throughout the Greater Boston and Metrowest areas, including a specially curated, site-specific exhibition at Minute Man National Historical Park.

This year, The Umbrella has extended the project locally by inviting area residents to take the "Go Out Doors" Concord Community Challenge! to create and display their own "artdoors" at their homes and businesses, joining the artists whose works are displayed in a walkable area of the Concord Center Cultural District, as well as at Bradford Mill in neighboring West Concord Cultural District and at three key sites in the National Park.

Artists on display include BARD, Cassandre Charles, Abby Cramer, Nayda Cuevas, Yetti Frenkel, Liz Helfer, Margarita Krylova, Monkeyhouse, Caroline Provost, and Sophy Tuttle.

NEW: Join us for an Artists' Reception and Walking Tour of the doors installed in Concord Center, Saturday October 29, 10:30AM-12:00AM starting and ending at The Umbrella!
