Presented by LexArt: Lexington Arts and Crafts Society at LexArt: Lexington Arts and Crafts Society

Skills Level: All

Description:

Join LexArt for an exciting outdoor firing experience! Modern raku is a low fire smoking process that produces a variety of unique colors and textures on bisque pottery when pieces are pulled from the kiln. The thermal shot creates the cracks for crackle glaze and the reduction atmosphere allows the possibility of wide range of colors with a single glaze. This workshop will allow participates to create work in the first session and participate in a Raku firing on the second session.  Students are expected to have some basic knowledge of clayworking skills.
