Award-winning organist Carolyn Craig plays the Great Organ in the eighth concert of the 2022 Methuen Memorial Music Hall Summer Series.
Carolyn Craig of Knoxville, Tennessee has been performing since she made her Carnegie Hall debut as a pianist at the age of 14. In 2014, she made her AGO National debut in Boston as an RYCO winner. Her recent awards include the Mary Baker Award in Organ Accompaniment from Yale University, the Audience Prize and the 2020 Arthur Poister Scholarship Competition in Organ Playing, and second prize and the Special Prize for the Interpretation of Mikael Tariverdiev's Works in the 2021 Tariverdiev International Organ Competition held in Kaliningrad, Russia.
She holds degrees from Indiana University and Yale University. In 2018/2019 she was Organ Scholar of Truro Cathedral in the UK. She has been heard in solo recitals at St. Paul's. Winchester, Wells, and Truro cathedrals; in Lund, Vasteras, and Kalmar Cathedrals' "World-leading organists from all corner of the earth" virtual series; and in venues throughout the US and Europe. Carolyn has also been featured on Pipedreams and at national conventions of the American Guild of Organists as a performer, improviser, and co-founder of amplifyfemalecomposers.org.
