Choro Brazil Trio is dedicated to performing Brazilian choro music, a traditional instrumental music that combines classical and jazz harmony with afro-Brazilian rhythms. The ensemble, featuring Brazilian 10-string mandolin virtuoso Ian Coury (10-string mandolin), accompanied by Gabriel Meireles (pandeiro), and Bill Ward (guitar), will perform choro classics by Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolim, Ernesto Narareth, and more, as well as original compositions.
Taking place two Wednesdays a month at the Brighton Farmer’s Market,
these family-friendly concerts present an eclectic soundscape of live music and include dance, storytelling, and demonstrations.
Produced by the Brighton Main Streets and the Harvard Ed Portal, performers include local and regional artists playing Children’s music, Gypsy Jazz, Celtic, Blues, Rock, Acapella, Indie Folk, African World Music, and more!
Free and open to the public, weather permitting.
