Description:
This is a course where you gain all the tools you need to dye vibrant colors and hand paint onto bamboo yarn and wool yarn. You will learn how to create colors that are multi-dimensional and not flat. You will learn how to hand paint yarns to create a multi-color skein that will give movement to your woven, knitted, or crocheted pieces. You will learn all the proper safety protocols for dying and hand painting. You will have fun and explore another level of creativity.
The instructor will be able to answer questions you've always had about color creation and yarn such as how to correct mistakes and reverse dying, the pros and cons of painting a warp directly on the loom, how to put colors together in your work, and much more! You will leave the class with your own set of directions and suggested materials for future dying, as well as your new creations from the class.
This class will include a lunch break, so bring some food. Also, please be sure to bring a mask, a notebook, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Lastly, bring a willingness to have fun and think outside of the box!
