Sculpture Exhibition in the Jeremiah Lee Mansion Garden in Marblehead
Florence-trained, Marblehead artist Jonathan Sherman is exhibiting three bronze portraits from his series “Great Thinkers Throughout the World & Ages” at the Jeremiah Lee Mansion. The sculptures will be on view in the garden from June 16 – July 31, 2022. The Lee Mansion, one of the most important examples of Georgian architecture in the country, is a natural venue for Jonathan’s work, as they both stand for and embody the Renaissance ideals of beauty and harmony.
The portraits in this summer’s exhibit are of Leonardo da Vinci, Confucius and Hypatia of Alexandria – a fabled philosopher, astronomer and the first recorded female mathematician. Jonathan created the sculpture series to spread appreciation for our innate opportunity to think, and to utilize it for our betterment as individuals, as a society and on a global scale.
