Organists Richard J. Clark, Mark Dwyer, Ross Wood and Leo Abbott commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the rededication of the Great Organ.
On June 24, 1947, the Great Organ was rededicated with a concert played by Arthur Howes, Carl Weinrich, and Ernest White. Celebrated Boston organists Leo Abbott, Richard J. Clark, Mark Dwyer, and Ross Wood share the spotlight to commemorate that rededication, playing works by Clark, Sowerby, Widor, Vierne, and Peeters.
Richard J. Clark serves as Archdiocesan and Cathedral Director of Music and Organist. after serving for nearly twenty-nine years at St. Cecilia Parish in Boston. He also served Boston College and the Jesuit Community for sixteen years as Organists and Cantor at St. Mary's Chapel. Mark Dwyer has held the position of Organist and Choirmaster of The Church of the Advent, Boston. Ross Wood is Associate Organist at the Parish of All Saints, Ashmont, having previously served at The Church of the Advent and Trinity Church. Leo Abbott retired from the Cathedral of the Holy Cross after nearly thirty-three years and was given the title of Music Director and Organist Emeritus.
