2021 JArts/CJP Community Creative Fellow Yoni Battat is currently on tour with the Tony Award-winning The Band's Visit. Catch him on this rare night home, live in the Backroom at the Boston Synagogue for a preview of his forthcoming album, Fragments, the album he wrote in collaboration with Greater Boston community during the fellowship.
Yoni Battat is a Boston-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, and teacher, specializing in contemporary and traditional Jewish music from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Yoni’s Judaism is deeply rooted in both his Iraqi and Polish ancestry, and especially the rich musical traditions that come from these cultures.
