Ricano Concert (Afro-Caribbean Project) by Jonathan Suazo

Presented by Agora Cultural Architects at Arlington Street Church

Jonathan Suazo + band will be performing unreleased material from his Afro-Caribbean project Ricano. With this project, Jonathan aims to instill a strong sense of self worth and empowerment for the Latin X community everywhere in the world. This will be the 1st ever glance of this project in a concert setting. The sextet will feature Dominican Drummer/Composer Ivanna Cuesta, Puerto Rican Bassist Dan Martinez, Cuban Pianist/Composer Anibal Cruz, Puerto Rican Singer/Composer Tanicha Lopez and local guests on percussion.

Ricano is a fresh afro-caribbean experience. The music takes the audience on a cross-cultural journey that highlights many traditional styles and homeland feelings like those of Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic, within an artistic fusion container of Suazo’s many musical influences.
