Voices of Hope Concert: Pihcintu

Voices of Hope Concert: Pihcintu

Presented by One Journey at The Cathedral Church of Saint Paul.

Voices of Hope Concert featuring the renowned Pihcintu Multinational Girls Chorus. Hear the soaring voices and stories of refugee girls who have survived heart-breaking challenges and now inspire audiences around the world. After the concert, meet refugee-helping nonprofits at the NGO Fair and learn how to take action locally to support refugees.

Welcoming refugee and immigrant voices from many countries, Pihcintu helps restart young lives. After surviving tragedy and challenges few can imagine, these brave young women have found warmth, companionship, and harmony with Pihcintu. Through the healing power of music, these remarkable singers have learned to trust, hope, and laugh again. Being in their presence is a life-affirming experience that has touched the hearts of all who hear them.

Pihcintu was founded in 2006 by Con Fullam, a five- time Emmy Nominated television producer and an award-winning songwriter and musician. The chorus has performed for over 300,000 people live and hundreds of millions via broadcast and Internet media. They have appeared on the Today Show, National Public radio, Univision, and Voice of America, and performed at the Kennedy Center, the Washington National Cathedral (One Journey Festival), and the United Nations. More than 300 girls representing 40 countries have passed through the chorus - with 100% high school graduation and 85% post-secondary education.

Organized by One Journey in partnership with the historic Cathedral Church of Saint Paul and the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, this free concert is made possible by the generous sponsorship of TD Bank and its TD Ready Commitment global initiative. One Journey is building a national movement that shifts the narrative about refugees by celebrating the "oneness" of humanity through the common languages of humanity: music, dance, food, art, technology, storytelling, and sports.
