Southwest Corridor Park Walking Tour

Southwest Corridor Park Walking Tour

Presented by Jamaica Plain Historical Society at Jackson Square T Stop

The Southwest Corridor Park was the result of protests about the creation of an eight lane highway running through Boston’s southwestern neighborhoods. Jamaica Plain’s residents played an important role in both the stopping of the I-95 project and the efforts to create a park out of the razed land. This historical walking tour will follow the path of the park and discuss changes in the landscape. It will also talk about the communities that forced those changes to happen.

Meet your guide from the Jamaica Plain Historical Society at the Jackson Square T Stop. The tour will be cancelled in the case of heavy rain. Please note the tour covers about 1 mile and ends at Green Street T Stop.

No reservations are required, free and open to the public. Please follow any relevant COVID 19 protocols at time of tour.
