Mass Throwdown! Crossing Lines of Race and Gender

Mass Throwdown! Crossing Lines of Race and Gender

Presented by Seraphim Singers at Eliot Church of Newton

Settings of the Mass by Imogen Holst, Benjamin Britten, Kevin Allen and McNeil Robinson
In our unsettled world the beauty of this music will speak to you in hope and with clarity for safety, unity, justice and peace.

WHAT IS MASS THROWDOWN?  Hear how the same texts yielded four unique approaches that evoke a range of emotions.  Compare, contrast and experience those emotions as you explore these settings with us.  The works use varied forces and cross lines of race and gender.
Mass Throwdown will be repeated on May 14 in Cambridge with in person and virtual ticketing available.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Newton Cultural Council, a local council that is supported by the Mass Cultural Council and the City of Newton.
