In this pendant-making class, participants will develop fabrication skills including soldering techniques, drilling, sawing/piercing, filing, making jump rings, satin finishing, and setting a stone.

In this workshop, you will create your own sterling silver pendant with a bezel-set cabochon stone. Through the process of making your pendant, you will develop your fabrication skills including: learning multiple soldering techniques, drilling, sawing/piercing, filing, making jump rings, satin finishing, and setting a stone.
All materials will be provided, including; sterling silver, 16mm cabochon stones, fine silver bezel wire, solder, and more.

About the instructor: Laurie Savage received a BFA in metalsmithing from MassArt in 1998. She has taught the jewelry program at Cambridge Center for Adult Education since 1999, and metalsmithing workshops at Haystack, the DeCordova Museum School, Motherbrook Arts Community, Arlington Community Education and LEXArt. She maintains a studio in the Distillery Building in South Boston, and her work is available by commission.
