Join us for the PEM Prize Street Music Festival — a community-wide celebration that is free and open to the public and hosted in collaboration with Creative Collective.
Celebrate artist and PEM Prize recipient Carlos Garaicoa, whose groundbreaking exhibition Partitura featured a new kind of orchestra made up of 40 individual recordings of street musicians. Join us as local street musicians bring a unique sound to downtown Salem and the PEM campus throughout the day. In addition to street music performances, the event will feature vendors, a DJ, food trucks and beer garden as well as live art experiences and art making for all ages to enjoy.
Then experience the world premiere performance of a new score Garaicoa created especially for the PEM Prize in collaboration with composer Esteban Puebla. The artist will be in attendance.
Free and open to the public and hosted in collaboration with Creative Collective.
