Pen Turning: Lathe

Pen Turning: Lathe

Presented by The Umbrella Arts Center at The Umbrella Arts Center

This three-hour class will teach you the entire process from start to finish of making a pen. Each student will be guided to design, mount, and turn a wooden pen in the classroom. Each will leave with at least one pen they made in the class, and will, in addition, come away with the fundamentals of how to turn pens at home on their own lathe. No experience necessary.

The Umbrella offers wide variety of arts classes, for adults, children and teens alike, with Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Digital Arts, Performing Arts, Makers and Design, Glass, Fiber Arts, Film and Photography, Mixed Media, and Arts & Environment, youth school vacation programs and summer camps, homeschool programs, private art parties, and more.
