Join Opera del West for a live and in person performance of a comic one-act opera, “Pepito” as part of a one hour program also featuring art songs sung by Boston area local vocalists.
Join Opera del West for a comic one-act opera called "Pepito." This is a new work in English by up-and-coming composer Nicolas Lell Benavides and librettist Marella Martin Koch about a dog looking for his forever home. Camila and David, young married professionals, are searching for the perfect dog. As Camila and Pepito form an unshakeable bond, Angie the manager of the shelter, asks the couple if they are sure they are ready for this.
As we celebrate all of our Covid pets we will round out this one-hour program with art songs about animals by composers Emmanuel Chabrier, Ernest Chausson, Dan Shore, Rachel Portman and Juliana Hall.
The cast members are Opera del West favorites: Aurora Martin from "Cendrillon," Joel Edwards from Candide, Roselin Osser from "La Cenerentola," and James Liu from "The Marriage of Figaro."
Stage Directed by Brenda Huggins and Music Directed by Eve Budnick.
We currently require proof of COVID-19 vaccination with a matching photo ID and a face covering for all patrons attending live music events, movie screenings, and other programs.
