The Brookline Symphony Orchestra's Spring 2022 Concert

The Brookline Symphony Orchestra's Spring 2022 Concert

Presented by Brookline Symphony Orchestra at All Saints Parish Brookline

After pausing its 2020 celebrations due to the pandemic, the Brookline Symphony Orchestra is delighted to finally perform Barber’s Cello Concerto with special guest Peter Stumpf. The concert also features Beethoven’s iconic Symphony No.5.

The Brookline Symphony Orchestra originated in the 1950s to bring classical music to the community. In 2010 a group of friends brought together by their passion for classical music revived the organization to make it an integral part of the Brookline community and beyond. Its vision is to present concerts of the highest quality and enrich the life of the community through classical music through affordable performances and outreach events. The orchestra’s members are talented musicians—amateur, student and professional—who volunteer their time to create an organization of which Brookline can be proud.

Showcased on the program is Samuel Barber’s Cello Concerto, performed with guest soloist Peter Stumpf. Stumpf is professor of cello at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Prior to his appointment, he was the principal cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for 9 years following a 12 year tenure as Associate Principal Cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Also on the program is Ludwig von Beethoven’s iconic Symphony No. 5, which is widely considered one of the cornerstones of western music.

Join the celebration on Saturday, March 19, at 8:00pm at All Saints Parish in Brookline, MA. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 for students and seniors, and free for children 12 & under; pre-ordering tickets online is strongly encouraged. Please note that masks and proof of vaccination are required for all attendees over 12 years old; masks required for those under 12.
