Free concert by leading Boston large jazz ensemble.
The Makanda Project, Boston's acclaimed creative big band, begins its 2022 season with a concert featuring multi-instrumentalist and composer Salim Washington, a Boston resident and bandleader during the 1980s and 1990s who has performed worldwide in the years since. Based in South Africa for the past decade, he is spending the current year in New York. The program will include compositions by Salim Washington, Makanda Ken McIntyre, and South African musicians Ndikho Xaba and Feya Faku.

Free admission. Seating at the live event will be limited due to Covid regulations, so reservations are recommended.
