About the Class or Event

Skills Level: Beginners to Intermediate

Class: $400

Materials fee: $85

Description:

This class will provide you with the foundations of good clay working skills.  Wheel throwing techniques such as centering and making a bowl, from start to finish.

Demonstrations, individual critiques, and lots of hands-on time will engage students in learning the basics of wheel throwing and hand-building.  For students with more experience, the class can accommodate you as well providing more techniques.

Students will have access to Open Studio to continue their work on Wednesday nights.

Materials fee:

An $85 clay and firing Fee will be separately invoiced to students.

About the instructor: 

Marc Mancuso is a maker, teacher, and thinker who welcomes minutiae, experiments with processes, and pushes materials to extremes. As a ceramics educator for nearly 25 years, Marc still looks forward to discovering better modes of communicating with students and other teachers. He is keenly interested in finding the nuanced sentiment, a useful reference, or the right technique that propels someone forward. He works and teaches in several studios around the Boston area.
