Presenting Yiddish singer/songwriter Adah Hetko, violist/violinist/vocalist Lysander Jaffe, & accordianist & vocalist Kaia Berman Peters
Levyosn’s lullaby is a new project bringing together three rising stars of the Boston area Jewish music scene: Yiddish singer/songwriter Adah Hetko, violist/violinist/vocalist and world music aficionado Lysander Jaffe, & fiery klezmer accordionist & vocalist Kaia Berman Peters.
According to midrash, on the fifth day of creation God created the levyosn (or leviathan): a giant fish of incredible power & mystery. What if the levyosn still swam in our oceans?
Drawing from their repertoire of Eastern European folk music mixed with original compositions, their music explores: What would the levyosn dream of? How would it bring together sound & culture? What songs would it sing? & what melodies would rock it to sleep?
We are a warm, friendly, pluralistic community in Downtown. Welcome to people of all Jewish denominations-- singles, couples, as well as interfaith couples & LGBTQ
NOTE. All attendees 12 & older need to show proof of vaccination & all attendees must be masked. The synagogue COVID protocols are guided by the CDC, state & city guidelines.
