Invisible Disabilities explores the personal experiences of individuals living with disabilities that are not easily seen. Curated by University of Westminster graduate Samantha Joyce and designed by Kyung Eun Lee, this exhibit showcases a series of paintings, videos, and mixed media created by visual artists. Addressing the theme of representation, curator Samantha Joyce explains that “art in general is usually a good representation of the artist, their surroundings, and their community, but what happens when you have a disability that is not easily seen by the naked eye?” With this exhibit, she aims to “shed light on invisible disabilities and encourage their representation in a greater number of galleries and museums to help build a wider audience.” The 9 artists featured in the exhibit are Romani Berlekov, Linda Clave, Sam Fein, Steph Koufman, Pauline Lim, Lydia Lodynsky, Maia Monteagudo, Amaranthia Sepia, and Jennifer Turpin.
