OtherWise by Ilya Vidrin

Presented by Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) at Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA, Martin Hall

Shared as a work-in-process through the new Dancemakers Laboratory at BCA, OtherWise is a multidisciplinary performance production investigating intergenerational trauma through the lens of the Soviet-era bard movement. Drawing upon and interpreting the songs of iconic bards such as Bulat Okudzhava, Vladimir Vysotsky, Alexander Galich, and Yuri Vizbor, OtherWise fuses dance, music, and spoken word to illuminate a unique refugee experience.

Please join us for a series of open rehearsals to view the work and share feedback as the artistic team continues to develop and investigate this layered production.
