Engaging, fun, virtual programming for students of all ages, backgrounds and experiences!
Wheelock Family Theatre’s educational program is designed intentionally to provide opportunities for students of different ages and stages to grow both theatre skills and life skills. Classes are designed to meet students’ developmental level, and are encouraged to take our foundational process-based classes more than once. Students are invited to go deeper within a particular series and also to broaden their experience by taking classes across three series: Acting, Musical Theatre and Design.
Imaginary Adventures: Beneath the Waves (Virtual) AGES 4-5
Get ready to take an imaginative trip! Inspired by a backpack full of mystery objects, students will head off on a new adventure each class using movement, creative problem-solving, and imaginative play! Students will receive a packing list each week, inviting them to use everyday objects in new and creative ways as they embark on their imaginary adventures.
Act Out: Comic Capers (Virtual) AGES 6-8
A fun and physical introduction to the world of a play! With a different story each week to spark and support the creative process, students will bring this story to life through the use of their actors’ tools (body, voice, mind, imagination). Set the stage with bed sheets and pillows, turn a baseball cap into a crown and fuzzy slippers into a telephone, as students’ homes (and everything in them) become the setting for their own play explorations! Each 4-week session will revolve around a fun and developmentally appropriate theme.
Registration closes November 4th, 2021.
Classes are held virtually.
Tuition for both programs is $180. Tuition assistance is available.
