Stones to Rainbows/Gay to Queer Lives QUEER CABARET

Stones to Rainbows/Gay to Queer Lives QUEER CABARET

Presented by Peter DiMuro / Public Displays of Motion and The Front Porch Arts Collective and The History Project at Arts at the Armory

Peter DiMuro/Public Displays of Motion along with 150+ voices involved are thrilled to bring the project to life in the spacious Main Hall of the Center for the Arts at the Armory October 23 & 23, 2021. In this version, there will we host three live performances of rotating casts over two days. Performances will be nestled within the multi-media arts installation of a rainbow of light and closet doors, and will feature pre-recorded footage of interviews and conversations among area and national LGBTQ+ community members and artists spanning seven decades in age.

With more talent of live performance revealed as the days count down, we can confirm that artists Jessye DeSilva, Maggie Cee, Peter DiMuro, Sue Katz, Andy Lantz, Leni Lunderman,  Brian Patton, Rene Pfister, Linda Marie Possa, Maria Servellon, and Catherine Siller are on the roster. Stones to Rainbows is  a testament to decades' worth of persistence and resilience, love and life in the queer community - and the necessary communication among all the intersections that make up the spectrum of LGBTQ+. Especailly with the addition of you, as audience and participation, Stones to Rainbows will reveal how all of humanity can triumph when heart and creativity are prioritized. We can't wait for you to see yourself, stones of struggles and your rainbows successes alike, reflected in this emotionally and physically moving performance and multimedia exhibit.
