John Sulivan Quartet

Presented by Mandorla Music at First Parish Milton UU

With the support of the Milton Cultural Council, Mandorla Music is pleased to present two concerts this fall in the sanctuary at First Parish Milton featuring ensembles lead by Milton residents. ** Note that capacity will be limited and that masks will be required for all who attend. **

The second of these will be on Saturday, October 23rd, and will feature the John Sullivan Quartet. For this show, Milton resident, bassist and composer John Sullivan will be joined by pianist Dan Pappas, guitarist Mitch Selib and drummer Charles Haynes aka Chally Mikes.
Having started gigging at 15, bassist John Sullivan was already years into a professional career by the time he landed at the New England Conservatory in the late 90s. Following NEC, he kept heavy company during his nearly 20 fruitful years in NYC, playing and recording with folks like Roy Haynes, Robert Glasper, Walter Smith, Marcus Strickland, Mike Moreno, Jaleel Shaw, Avishai Cohen and George Garzone.

After John and his family moved to Milton in 2017, he quickly became a first-call bassist on the Boston scene, and appears regularly with tenor giant Jerry Bergonzi, among others.

This performance will features John's own compositions and arrangements, including settings of material from his forthcoming album 'Fan Bass.'
