Join artist Deborah Drummond on Thurs. Nov. 4th from 5 to 8 pm at The W Gallery (57 Andrew Ave, Wayland) for the workshop, “Collage - Abstract Painting With Paper.” This will be a fun and relaxing class designed for the non-painter and experienced artist alike. Collage is a flexible and forgiving way of creating art. Students will choose colors and textures of papers to create applying basic elements of art (line, texture, shape, etc.) with a focus on embracing experimentation. We will learn collage techniques using a variety of painted and found papers, magazine pages and other materials to make exciting compositions. Students will see how "drawing" with shapes is a spontaneous path of expression and learning. Demo and handouts as well as materials will be provided.
