Ludovico Ensemble: Younghi Pagh-Paan Portrait Concert

Ludovico Ensemble: Younghi Pagh-Paan Portrait Concert

Presented by Tufts University Department of Music at Distler Performance Hall

The Ludovico Ensemble presents a concert of Younghi Pagh-Paan’s chamber works. Although Pagh-Paan (b. 1945) is one of the most celebrated composers of her generation, her music is seldomly presented outside of her native South Korea or her professional home base of Germany. While she is one of the most frequently performed composers at the Darmstädter Ferienkurse as well as the Donaueschinger Musiktage, a perusal of her performance history yields only a single event in the United States; a performance of a her work U-Mul on a concert in New York in 2019. Ludovico will play NO-Ul for viola, cello, bass, Die Insel schwimmt and PYON-KYONG for piano and percussion and Horizont auf hoher See for string quartet, performed by Gabriela Diaz and Lilit Hartunian, violin, Anna Griffis, viola, David Russell, cello, Randall Zigler, bass, Yoko Hagino, piano, and Nicholas Tolle, percussion.

Due to COVID regulations, live audiences at Tufts Music events are restricted to individuals with a Tufts ID only who have filled out the Daily COVID-19 Screening Survey.

This event will be live streamed through Tufts Music Live Streaming.
