King’s Chapel Concert Series’ first concert in twenty months features Music Director Heinrich Christensen leading his 16-voice choir in a program including Vaughan Williams’ “Serenade to Music.”
The King’s Chapel Concert Series returns to perform a program featuring a sixteen-voice choir and soloists led Music Director Heinrich Christensen. The centerpiece is Ralph Vaughan Williams’ sublime “Serenade to Music,” extolling the joys and virtues of music with texts from William Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice.” The world premiere of Boston-composer Carson Cooman’s “What is Holy?” celebrates Christensen’s twentieth anniversary as music director. Music of Boston colonial composer William Billings rounds out the program.
The King’s Chapel Concert Series offers innovative programs, each one-hour long, in an intimate and historical setting. Attendees are required to wear masks during the concert. King’s Chapel safety policies regarding Covid-19 may be found on the home page at kings-chapel.org.
