Abilities Dance presents a commissioned film responding to the Gardner’s special exhibition Titian: Women, Myth & Power.
Abilities Dance, whose vision is “to disrupt antiquated ableist beliefs and disseminate the value of inclusion through dance,” presents a commissioned film responding to the Gardner's special exhibition Titian: Women, Myth & Power. New choreography recenters diverse bodies to tell classic stories exploring themes of gender and representation.
Abilities Dance Boston dancers have diverse identities within and outside of the disabled community, which they bring to their co-choreographic creations with Founder and Executive & Artistic Director Ellice Patterson. Musical scores by Director of Music Andrew Choe and Composer Erin Rogers.
A segment of the film explores themes of rape, trafficking, and abuse. Attendees will have the option to step out of the hall during that portion of the program.
Amplifier Projects at the Gardner highlight change-makers working towards social justice through the arts.
This film screening and live discussion takes place during Free First Thursdays. Museum admission is free, but reservations are required for this free, 90-minute featured program. (Program tickets include general museum entry. If you plan to attend the film screening, please reserve your tickets for the performance.) The Museum and Cafe G are open late, and art-making activities are offered in the Studio.

Three parking lots are available at the Museum of Fine Arts, on Museum Road accessible from Huntington Avenue or from the Fenway.
