300 Summer Street: Evidence of Survival Again

300 Summer Street: Evidence of Survival Again

Presented by Fort Point Arts Community (FPAC) at FPAC Gallery

While under constant threat of eviction, 28 years ago a group of artists banded together and purchased 300 Summer Street for conversion into permanent and affordable live/work studios. The next three years entailed fund raising, sweet talking the banks, zoning changes, demolition, and construction.  And on the one-year anniversary of moving in, we celebrated with a group exhibition, Evidence of Survival.

Today, we are still here but it has not been easy.  From the usual repair work that goes along with any building, to rising sea levels, climate change, social injustice, the global pandemic, and the threat to our nation from without, and from within, we persevere to make art that speaks the truth.

This is our Evidence of Survival – Again.
