Wind players from The Apollo Ensemble of Boston present a free one-hour outdoor concert by the Breakheart Reservation state park gazebo in Saugus, Massachusetts. The program is Mendelssohn's Nocturno (for 11 winds), Arthur Bird's Suite in D (for 10 winds), and arrangements of Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours (for 9 winds and double bass) and three movements of Dvorak's Czech Suite (for 10 winds).
The musicians are Michael Tabak and Stacey Chou (flutes), Joel Bard and Izumi Sakamoto (oboes), Danby Cho and Yhasmin Valenzuela-Blanchard (clarinets), Jessica Appolinario and Jimmy Zhou (French horns), Shu Satoh and Lauren Landry (bassoons), Emil Languedoc (trumpet), and Amy Belhumeur (double bass). Elias Miller is the conductor.
Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy music out of doors.
