Ian Kennelly: A Retrospective

Presented by Fort Point Arts Community at Assemblage Art Space

Fort Point Arts Community (FPAC) presents: Ian Kennelly: A Retrospective. From baseball to food to construction sites, he has captured his personal views of the neighborhood, Greater Boston and beyond.  Come & see this vast array work at Assemblage Art Space! All works are also available for purchase.

Originally from the Greater L.A. area of CA, Ian Kennelly came to Boston over 30 years ago to attend school.  At MassArt, he refined his appreciation of time worn places and objects, depicting them in oil paints.  In his Fort Point studios, he expanded his visual research of his surroundings to include food, baseball, construction sites and the ephemera of these processes. Though trained as an oil painter, Kennelly has used gouache, graphite, sumi ink, mixed media collage and even LEGO bricks to bring his ideas to life.  With these varied media at his disposal, Kennelly’s depictions of his world run the gamut of tight realism to graphic abstractions.  Recently, he relocated his studio outside of Fort Point.

Kennelly’s work has been shown in various venues in the Greater Boston area as well as CA, MI and TN.
