Live Arts Arlington: C#minor7, a jazz trio

Live Arts Arlington: C#minor7, a jazz trio

Presented by Arts Arlington at Medford Street parklet

Peter says, "C#minor7 as a band name is a bit of an in joke, but we’d love to include you. You’ve all heard a C#minor7 and of course jazz players will shake their heads approvingly. It’s just a wonderfully spicy chord whose sweet dissonance is so evocative of that uniquely American art form – Jazz. Tino and I found ourselves without any performance opportunities last year, but desperate for musical companionship formed a little cohort and played on. We are now extremely happy to be able to share the fruits of this collaboration – the melding of two unusual instruments in an intimate exploration of jazz improvisation."

Both Dagostino and Lehman are long time residents of Arlington and Peter Lehman has forged an individual style of playing on a 17th century instrument – the theorbo. "Who knew that in the right hands this ancient instrument would be so adaptable and appropriate for jazz?"
