Martha's Vineyard Book Festival 2021 Summer Series

Presented by Martha's Vineyard Book Festival & Author Series at Martha's Vineyard Museum and Chilmark Community Center

The Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival will launch a live Summer Series this summer. Held both down-Island and up-Island, and outdoors, the Summer Series will feature 20 of the country’s leading authors speaking over three days. The Series kicks off on Thursday, August 5 with Nobel prize winner, Daniel Kahneman interviewed by biographer and historian Walter Isaacson at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum in Vineyard Haven. Friday, August 6 at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum features thought-provoking panels on race, feminism, politics and journalism. Saturday, August 7 and Sunday, August 8, the Summer Series moves up-island to the grounds of the Chilmark Community Center in Chilmark for author talks throughout each day.

All events will be ticketed in advance and ticket sales will include the purchase of the book.

Each event will be live-streamed so that those without tickets or who are uncomfortable attending in person can participate, and live-streamed events will be free.

Admission Info

All events will be ticketed in advance with featured books included in the ticket price. Purchase Day Passes through EventBrite and Single Event Tickets through the MV Book Festival Website. Sponsorship opportunities with full access to our programming are SOLD OUT. Ticket sales for each author talk are only available in advance. No walk-ins will be allowed. Each event will be live-streamed so that those without tickets or who are uncomfortable attending in person can participate, and live-streamed events will be free.

Join us Thursday evening, August 5, as we open the 2021 Summer Series at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum in Vineyard Haven. The Book Festival will continue at the museum for the day on Friday, August 6. On August 7 - 8, we move up-island to the Chilmark Community Center grounds. The outdoor event will take place in two locations, over more than 3 days, featuring talks and appearances by some of the brightest minds of 2021.
