Adornments: Objects of Beauty, Status and Ideas with Lissa Hunter

Presented by LexArt: Lexington Arts and Crafts Society at LexArt: Lexington Arts and Crafts Society

3 consecutive days workshop - 10:00 am-4:00 pm (6 hours)

Sun - Tue  Aug 1, 2 and 3, In-Studio

Wikipedia tells us that an adornment is generally an accessory or ornament worn to enhance the beauty or status of the wearer, to distinguish the wearer, and/or to define cultural, social, or religious status within a specific community.

Working with various elementary materials and techniques, we will make a series of body adornments…pins, pendants, earrings, bracelets or necklaces…emphasizing the use of a guiding idea to progress from one to the next.  This workshop will be more about the process than product but you may be surprised at what can be accomplished in a short time with simple materials.

A $20 kit (directly payable to the instructor) will be provided at the beginning of the class. Students will need to bring additional material listed.
