Join us live on Zoom as author, composer, jazz guitarist, and recording artist Dr. Bill Banfield leads candid conversations and musical explorations with leading artists from diverse American backgrounds and styles. This online conversation features NEA Jazz Master and GRAMMY-winning jazz drummer, producer, educator, and activist Terri Lyne Carrington, who will share stories of her life and work, clips from live performances, and answer audience questions.
Jazz drummer Terri Lyne Carrington has shared the stage with some of the greatest names in jazz, including Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Stan Getz, Dianne Reeves, John Scofield, Diana Krall, and countless others. Now, with her band, Social Science, and her post as founder of the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice, Carrington works to affect long-lasting cultural shifts through jazz, recognizing the role that the art form can play in the larger struggle for gender and racial justice.
