Composition in Photography (& Art)

Composition in Photography (& Art)

Presented by Trescott Street Gallery and Downtown Taunton Foundation at Trescott Street Gallery

This workshop covers the basic rules of composition and how to use them to help you create more interesting and compelling images. There are plenty of composition rules to help guide you such as rule of thirds, balancing elements, and leading lines. What are these rules and more importantly, what do they mean? How can you train yourself to make important compositional decisions? This workshop is a good start.

The fee for this workshop is $50. Space is limited to 12 participants. Each attendee may bring 2 photos for instructor review. Due to time constraints, the instructor will review 1 photo for each person and MAY review photo # 2 if time allows.

From the Instructor:
Composition describes the placement of relative objects and elements in a work of art. Composition is a way of guiding the viewer’s eye towards the most important elements of your work. Therefore, composition is a key aspect of a good work of art. There is hardly a way to overemphasize the importance of composition. This is an element that every photographer needs to give a lot of attention to.
