The North River Arts Society’s Festival of the Arts is going virtual this year! Following tradition, the 44th Annual Festival will be held on Memorial Day weekend, May 29-30, 2021; however, in the interests of safety, a celebratory series of festivities and activities will be offered online at northriverarts.org. The Virtual Festival will feature a Juried Art, Sculpture and Photography exhibit of selected works by the area’s finest artists, as well as an online Artisans’ Boutique, performances by local acts, the Giant Puppets, and more!
For 43 straight years the North River Arts Society presented their Annual Festival of the Arts on Memorial Day weekend. But the year 2020, as we all know, was a different time for gathering and celebration and the 44th Festival did not happen. We are now excited to report that we will hold a virtual Festival of the Arts again this year over Memorial Day weekend!
This Festival will include an online juried fine art, photography and sculpture exhibit. Winners will be announced at the Show Opening Event, Friday, May 28. Selected artwork will be hung in the G.A.R. Hall for viewing throughout the month of June by appointment. Saturday, May 29 will feature the online Arts Festival with performances by musicians, dancers and theater groups, children’s activities, artisans’ creations, and the popular giant puppet parade for online viewing by the community. For many, this celebrated event marks the beginning of our coastal summer season and typically attracts viewers from all the South Shore and beyond.
The event is free to the public but you can register for the event here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/north-river-arts-society-festival-of-the-arts-2021-tickets-152385851183
