Tufts performance faculty member Nando Michelin leads his quartet in an album release concert video premiere "Letters from the Quarantine", a collection of compositions written in the last two years. The production work was done remotely with producer Ebinho Cardoso, achieving a very detailed level of arrangements. This process of pre-production made up for the lack of opportunities to perform the music live.
Two songs with lyrics by Brazilian songwriter Antonio Loureiro and eight instrumental pieces are performed by Grammy winning guitarist Chico Pinheiro and percussionist Rogerio Boccato, as well as drummer Tiago Michelin and bassist/producer Ebinho Cardoso.
The title track, "Cartas desde la cuarentena", features McArthur Genius Fellow Miguel Zenon and has been selected as one of the finalists in the Tete Montoliu Composition Competition in Spain.
After the concert video premiere, join Nando Michelin for a Q&A on Zoom.
