Cathy Meyer plays works by Mendelssohn, Franck, Sowerby, Barber, Sowande, Strayhorn and Reger to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Methuen Memorial Music Hall.
Cathy Meyer works in the Boston area as a full-time musician: performing, conducting, teaching, and coaching musicians of all levels and ages. She is Minister of Music at South Church Andover, UCC, directing the adult choirs, four children’s choirs, handbells, and the worship band, along with providing programming for the greater community including concerts, and events such as Pedals, Pipes and Pizza for youth. With a passion for bringing people of all walks of life together, Meyer is the Musical Director for the interfaith One Spirit Foundation and conducts the jazz ensemble in their The Lord’s Prayer Experience program. As a recitalist, she especially enjoys collaborative projects with other musicians on both the organ and piano bench; her most recent performances were at Merrimack College, Endicott College, South Church Andover, and Memorial Hall Library. Meyer serves on the Executive Committee for the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and has taught with the Young Organist Initiative. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance with a Specialization in Church Music from the University of North Texas and a Master of Sacred Music from Boston University’s School of Theology with a concentration in organ. Her teachers have included Peter Sykes, Lenora McCroskey, Nancy Granert, and Dale Peters.
We are pleased to share this beautiful music free of charge during the COVID health crisis. Contributions to support the Hall would be greatly appreciated.
