When Black Women Lead: Triumphs and Challenges of Black Women in Leadership

Presented by King Boston at Online/Virtual Space

In celebration of Women's History Month, join King Boston and Tomorrow's Women TODAY for an honest discussion on the triumphs and challenges experienced by some of Boston’s most influential Black women leaders. Leadership comes in many forms - perhaps most often associated with formal career positions, but also in civic activity, family roles, mentorship and advocating.  As leaders, our panelists represent various industries such as public service, higher education, and youth leadership.  As we explore the importance of race and gender in leadership, we hope that this discussion will empower, inspire, and inform.

Moderator:

Tammy Tai, Deputy Director, King Boston

Panelists:

Karilyn Crockett, Organizer, Nonprofit Leader, Policymaker, Educator
Lori Nelson, Chief Resilience, City of Boston, Mayor's Office
Debby Perez, Teen Empowerment Youth Organizer

Featuring student artist from Boston Arts Academy.

Tomorrow's Women TODAY will also present its Woman of the Year Award (2020) to Jackie Jenkins Scott.
