Off The Wall: Session Four

Off The Wall: Session Four

Presented by Rose Art Museum at Online/Virtual Space

Join special guests and members of the Rose curatorial team for lively conversations about the art, concepts, and visual dialogues highlighted in the museum's upcoming exhibition, re: collections, Six Decades at the Rose Art Museum.

In this fourth and final session, Gannit Ankori (Henry and Lois Foster and Chief Curator), Elyan Hill (Guest Curator of African and African Diaspora Art), Caitlin Julia Rubin (Associate Curator and Director of Programs), and Julián Cancino (Director of the Gender and Sexuality Center at Brandeis University) will facilitate an open discussion on the following works from the Rose Art Museum's collection:

Raida Adon, Body Recalled, 2011
Ajamu, Self-portrait (long wig), 1998
John Bankston, No. 20, 2005
Nona Faustine, Warrior and Child, 2012
Yves Tanguy, Land of the Sleepers, c. 1948

re: collections aims to push back against Art History’s rehearsed narratives and traditional categorizations, exploring alternative ways of seeing and thinking about modern and contemporary art. We want you to be part of these conversations as we shake things up and experience art “off the wall” together.

Please note, to keep conversations informal and lively, "Off The Wall" sessions will not be recorded.
