Representation and abstraction meet in an Invocation of Place, featuring the pointillist landscapes of Priscilla Levesque and the organic abstracts of Noel Soucy, on show from April 2-5 at Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell MA.
This April, Lowell’s Loading Dock Gallery presents Invocation of Place, by local artists Noel Soucy and Priscilla Levesque. Soucy creates abstracts in acrylics and alcohol inks. Her work is organic, full of energy. Making art offers Soucy a way to stay positive and healthy during difficult times. Swirling forms fill her canvases, inspired by the ebb and flow of nature. Levesque paints landscapes in the pointillist style, a technique pioneered during the late 19th century by Georges Seurat. With meticulous technique she builds shapes from small dots of colors.
Invocations of Place runs April 2- 25, 2021 at the Loading Dock Gallery, 122 Western Avenue, in Lowell, MA. There will be a "Meet the Artists" on April 11th from 12-2pm.
