JLive Visual Art with Adriana Katzew

JLive Visual Art with Adriana Katzew

Presented by Jewish Arts Collaborative at Online/Virtual Space

Adriana Katzew's work searches to unearth stories and memories of people, moments, and places, with much of her photography-based work featuring images of her own Mexican Jewish family. She is Associate Professor and Chair of the Art Education Department at MassArt. Her teaching and research focuses on community engagement and social justice, and on the intersection between visual arts and ChicanaX and LatinaX activism. Last Fall, Katzew was selected as one of the two inaugural Community Creative Fellows, a year-long program established by JArts and CJP (Combined Jewish Philanthropies) to support Boston-area creatives as they explore Jewish identity through art and culture. As part of her Fellowship, she is spending this year working with a variety of community groups, synagogues and organizations in art-based workshops.

JLive” is our series of virtual cultural experiences. Meet some of the best Boston area talent, telling their Jewish story through art. After all, even though  COVID-19 is keeping us apart, art and culture will always keep us connected.
