Join The Boston Globe throughout the month of February to honor films and filmmakers documenting the Black experience and the continued plight of systemic racism in the United States.
This short film is a time capsule; a reflection of a Call to Create in 2020, starring a cohort of nine, finding inspiration and practicing liberation. Part one shares experiences Mother Mercy curates as an arts incubator, and reflects our mission to align spirit work and creativity. This film is about reaching for art-making amid ruins, teasing out our will even when the world has ended. This work is an expression of Mother Mercy’s goal, to protect, teach & grow thinkers and makers. Our methodology includes asking a question to guide the collective process. The answer reveals itself in time, through spirit. This film shares just a glimpse of the process in lieu of an open studio.
After watching the film join filmmaker JME, and cinematographer, David Hill, moderated by the Globe's Jeneé Osterheldt.
