Millions of tons of textiles enter the solid waste stream each year and are either burned or enter landfills, releasing greenhouse gases and leaching toxins. Give old clothes and household textiles new life by learning how to make them into yarn, and crochet them into a tote bag and a basket. Learn how to make "plarn," yarn from plastic bags, for more upcycling options! Materials list will be sent upon registration. Taught by Kimberley Harding, an Arlington, MA fiber artist focusing on sculptural work addressing personal, societal, and environmental issues.
