Curating for the Chinese Zodiac: Furen Dai and Andy Li on The Greenway

Curating for the Chinese Zodiac: Furen Dai and Andy Li on The Greenway

Presented by Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy at Online/Virtual Space

Join the Greenway Conservancy in celebrating the Lunar New Year through our Public Art Program and our continued annual curation of Chinese Zodiac-inspired artworks on The Greenway!

Since 2015, a new, temporary artwork has been installed in Auntie Kay and Uncle Frank Chin Park on The Greenway each year that speaks to the current year’s Chinese Zodiac animal. The installation’s goal is to celebrate the culture, history, and traditions of the Lunar New Year and the Chinatown community through the ideas and expressions of contemporary artists.

Conservancy Director and Curator of Public Art Lucas Cowan and our Greenway artists will explore the current Year of the Mouse through Furen Dai’s A Mouse with Ears and Tail and look ahead to the Year of the Ox with Andy Li’s The Herd. Hear from the artists themselves about the meaning behind their work and connections to the Chinese Zodiac.
