A Science Experiment on Learning through Social Media What makes videos like Mark Rober’s World’s Largest Devil’s Toothpaste Explosion so compelling?
With over 28M views on YouTube, this exciting experiment engages audiences in STEM-based thinking and learning and they may not even realize it!
Join Artisan’s Asylum in welcoming Bob Pflugfelder (AKA Science Bob) and Jacob LaRocca who were integral to the behind-the-scenes experiments that went into making a Devil’s Toothpaste Explosion worthy of a Guinness Book of World Records win. In this session, you will hear how they used the iterative design process to create structures at different stages of the experimentation process leading up to the big reveal — a 20-foot flask used to propel the foam into the sky!
Bob and Jacob will walk us through their experience about working virtually with the entire production team, and how they planned, built, tested and retested all while balancing safety practices and technology snafus during the time of coronavirus. And they’ll be able to share some hallmarks of informal learning that captures the wonder and awe of learning across STEM fields.
